Venki Uddameri is a professor of civil, environmental and construction engineering at Texas Tech University, where he also serves as the director of the TTU Water Resources Center. His research interests are in the broad area of sustainable water resources management with a specific emphasis on groundwater systems. He has co-authored two books and over 100 technical publications. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Water Resources Association (JAWRA) a pre-eminent journal focused on multidisciplinary water resources issues. JAWRA is the flagship publication of the American Water Resources Association and is co-published with Wiley Inc.
