Description

The webinar will give viewers a window into how science is used in water resources policy making at the federal level. While the focus of the webinar is on how science is used in congressional decision-making--using California drought legislation as an example--other examples will include brief overviews of use by executive branch natural resource agencies and in a particular case, by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Learning Objectives

Participants of this webinar can expect to receive:
  1. Foundational knowledge of how science is used in policy and decision making in all 3 branches of the Federal Government.
  2. More in-depth knowledge of the congressional decision-making process(es).
  3. A brief view into the use of aquatic science in California drought legislation included in the 2016 Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN Act).
