Publication Charges
JAWRA recognizes an obligation to the water community, and to its authors, to distribute the knowledge contained within its pages as widely as possible. To accomplish this in an economically sustainable manner, publication charges partially covering the costs of producing JAWRA are assessed to the author. Rates are subject to change and charges will be incurred at the prevailing rates at the time of acceptance. Current rates are based on article type.
Article Type (Member / Non-member Rate)
- Research Articles/Literature Review = $1,425 / $1,900
- Technical Note/Commentaries = $750 / $1,000
- Discussions = $225 / $300
- Errata = $90 / $120
- Open Access = $3,000 additional

The preferred method of payment is credit card; however, if payment is made with a check and mailed to AWRA, the manuscript number (MS#) must be included on the check or
payment will be returned. When paying via wire transfer, you are responsible for covering the wire transfer fee or your payment will not be accepted.

Data Policy
JAWRA encourages authors to share the data and other artifacts supporting the results in the paper by archiving it in an appropriate public archive.
Pre-print Policy
JAWRA will consider for review articles previously available as pre-prints on non-commercial servers such as ArXiv, bioRxiv, psyArXiv, SocArXiv, engrXiv, etc. Authors may post the submitted version of their manuscript to non-commercial servers at any time. Authors are requested to update any pre-publication versions with a link to the final published article.
